Mountain Point Academy partners with residential treatment centers (RTCs), group homes, juvenile centers, private and public schools, and other program groups to deliver Cognia-accredited, mentor-led online coursework for grades 6 through 12 plus adult diploma completion.
An RTC partnership is an ongoing arrangement in which Mountain Point Academy supplies the accredited academic program for students in your care, either alongside what you already run or in place of it. Your program keeps clinical and residential responsibility. We take the courses, teaching, grading, and academic records.
Mountain Point Academy gives your group access to a full range of online courses starting at 6th grade and continuing through 12th, plus adult diploma completion. You can use us to replace your current academic program or to supplement one you already have.
We work with programs that need accredited academics to keep running while a student is in their care.
Students in these settings often arrive behind on credits, on an unusual schedule, or partway through a term. Self-paced courses with a mentor let them pick up where they are rather than where a semester happens to be.
Students can earn academic credit for participation in activities your program already runs, including teen living skills, therapy participation, physical education, and culinary arts. This applies to outside activities too, such as sports, music, dance, internships, employment, and volunteer work.
How it works:
Mountain Point Academy can accommodate existing IEP and 504 plans and provides support for students who have them. Accommodation documentation is kept in the student file so it travels with the transcript when a student discharges.
We do not conduct evaluations, write IEPs, or act as the local education agency. Those stay with the student district.
Mountain Point Academy is accredited by Cognia, with an initial accreditation date of January 23, 2020. Cognia is the parent organization for NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI.
Credits earned during a stay are issued on an accredited transcript, and a transcript is sent when a course is completed. Accreditation supports transferability, and receiving schools and districts make the final decision on accepting any specific credit or diploma.
Tuition is handled through a conversation, not a published rate card. We work through your program size, how many students you expect to enroll, and whether you are supplementing or replacing an existing academic program, then put together options that fit. Flexible tuition options are available, and the ability to enroll students at any time helps you manage staffing and enrollment fluctuations rather than paying against a fixed academic calendar.

Students can be enrolled at any time. There is no need to wait for the start of a semester or a term. Once enrollment is complete, we provision the student account, assign an Academic Mentor, and build a course plan around their pace and program schedule.
Credits are issued on a Cognia-accredited transcript, and accreditation supports transferability. The receiving school or district makes the final decision on any specific credit. We send the transcript on course completion so your discharge planning has documentation in hand.
Yes. Many partners already have a strong academic program and use Mountain Point Academy to add courses they cannot staff, such as electives, credit recovery, or specific graduation requirements. Others hand over academics entirely.
Yes. Teen living skills, therapy participation, physical education, and culinary arts can count toward experiential learning credit at 60 documented hours per 0.5 credit, up to one additional credit per school year per activity. The student logs hours and completes the academic portion of the course.
Yes. We can accommodate existing IEP and 504 plans and keep accommodation documentation in the student file. We do not conduct evaluations or write plans. Those remain with the student's district.
Grades 6 through 12, plus adult diploma completion. Core and elective courses are available 24/7, along with credit recovery and test prep for the GED, ACT, SAT, and ACCUPLACER. In-course translations are available in more than 25 languages.
Placement and diagnostic testing determines the right class or grade level and identifies gaps, so a student is not repeating material they have already mastered or dropped into a course they are not ready for.
Tuition depends on your program size, expected enrollment volume, and whether you are supplementing or replacing an existing academic program. We work that out in a consultation rather than publishing a rate card.
