What is Credit Recovery?

Credit recovery is a way to re-earn credit for a high school course you previously failed or didn’t finish. It lets you retake just what you need to get back on track for graduation. At MPA, it’s done through accredited, self-paced online courses with mentor support.

Our Credit Recovery Program

Get Back On Track

Are you behind schedule for graduation? Have you failed a course and need to repeat it?

Do you want to improve a grade on a previously completed course?

Credit recovery courses can provide a great way for you to retake previously completed or failed courses with the intent to boost your grade or overall GPA. They can be completed more quickly compared to a standard course, which allows you the flexibility to complete these courses at your own pace and your own time, even while dual enrolled at another school.

While enrolled in an MPA credit recovery course, you have the capability to test out of topics that you have already mastered, further customizing the course to your individual needs.

Please note: Some schools don’t allow dual enrolment or require permission ahead of time to take a course with another institution. Please check with your academic advisor beforehand.

High School Credit Recovery

Walk the Stage on Time

Credit Recovery for high school is a program that lets students re-earn course credits they previously failed or fell behind on, so they can get back on track toward graduation.

At Mountain Point Academy, it’s delivered through their accredited, online, self-paced model using mastery-based modules—meaning students progress once they’ve demonstrated understanding of the material rather than waiting out traditional seat-time requirements, which allows them to catch up and recover credits significantly faster than in a conventional classroom.

It’s supported by certified teachers and a dedicated academic mentor, with 24/7 course access and year-round open enrollment, making it well-suited for teens who need a fresh start after academic struggles, missed school due to health or life circumstances, or simply need a flexible, less overwhelming path to earning an accredited, nationwide-recognized diploma.

Ace Your Next Test or Entrance Exam

Mountain Point Academy offers a full suite of test preparation courses. Each test starts with a placement exam to test your current knowledge base. Based on the placement exam results, your course is tailored to fit your exact needs. This allows you to focus your study efforts on the topics you are not as comfortable with and quickly skim over the material you already know.

Immediate in-course feedback allows you to quickly assess where you are at and gauge your level of preparation for your upcoming test.

GED prep courses are available for any student looking for that option. If you are unsure on whether you should complete a GED program or finish your high school diploma, speak to one of our counselors for guidance.
